Pretérito Indefinido vs Pretérito Perfecto
English speakers often confuse these two. The Pretérito Indefinido is for finished past actions with no connection to the present. The Pretérito Perfecto (he comido) is for recent actions or experiences still relevant now. In Latin America, the Indefinido is used in both cases.
